Research and other cooperation of research infrastructure

Collaboration with other research organizations can be divided into national and international cooperation. In the nuclear power industry the role of technology platforms, where policy research is being developed and which are also the meeting point for industry with the academic sector and research organizations, is very important. Within platforms, consortia are formed to enter national and international projects. At the national level, TPUE – the Technology Platform for Sustainable Energy, is the most important, z. s. p. o. and the HYTEP – Czech Hydrogen Platform. Host institution CV Rez as a research organization, is a member of both platforms.

TPUE members

– Public higher education institutions: Czech Technical University in Prague (hereinafter referred as “CTU in Prague”), Technical University of Ostrava (hereinafter referred as “TU of Ostrava”), University of Technology in Brno (hereinafter referred as “UT” in Brno “), University of West Bohemia in Pilsen (hereinafter referred as “UWB in Pilsen”)

– Research organizations: CV Rez, Research and Testing Institute Plzeň Ltd.

– Industry: CEPS, a.s., CEZ a. s., EGÚ Brno, a. s., ŠKODA JS a.s., Doosan Škoda Power Ltd.., ÚJV Řež. a.s.

– Associate members of TPUE – both are industrial enterprises (in alphabetical order): ENVIROS, Ltd., EGP INVEST, spol. s r. o.

Members of the HYTEP platform

– Industry: United Hydrogen, a. s., ÚJV Řež a. s., UNIPETROL, a. s.

In addition to membership in Czech platforms, CV Rez is a subsidiary of ÚJV Řež. with some partners, bilateral relations related to a specialized field of activity – for example, a cooperation agreement on higher education with CTU in Prague.CV Rez is also a member of the AVO the Association of Research Organizations, which is a voluntary association of more than 70 organizations engaged in applied research.CV Rez participates in the solution of a number of national projects (Technology Agency of the Czech Republic, Grant Agency of the Czech Republic, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, Ministry of Finance) in which it cooperates with the following universities, research organizations and representatives of the industrial sphere and which contribute to sustainability of the SUSEN project.

– Universities: Masaryk University, Technical University of Ostrava, University of Chemical-Technology in Prague, University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, University of Technology in Brno

– Research organizations: Institute of Chemical Processes Academy of Scienc CR v. v. i., Research and Testing Institute Pilsen Ltd., Institute of Materials Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, v. v. i., Czech Geological Survey

– Industry: ÚJV Řež, a. s., CHEMCOMEX Praha, a.s., Miligal, Ltd., EVECO, Ltd., MICo, spol. s.r.o., ESTCOM CZ – Oxidic Ceramics a. s., Prague Casting Services a.s., MPOWER Engineering, a. s., SIGMA Research and Development Institute, Ltd., Doosan Škoda Power Ltd., ŠKODA JS a.s., ZAT a. s., ČKD ELEKTROTECHNIKA, a. s.,

At the international level CV Rez is a member of the Sustainable Nuclear Energy Technology Platform (SNETP) and legal entities based on the EERA (European Energy Research Alliance) and NUGENIA. SNETP is an association of more than 100 actors from industry, academic and research stakeholders. SNETP members can be divided by their approach and by focusing on: http://www.snetp.eu/wp- content/uploads/2014/02/snetp-members_may2014.pdf. Based on the SNETP meeting, were opened other organizations or working groups, only to members of the platform. CV Rez is a member of the non-profit European association NUGENIA for the safety of nuclear energy II. and III. reactor generation and NC2I (Nuclear Co-Generation Industrial Initiative) for cogeneration of electrical and thermal energy. Researchers are also active in the ESNII – European Sustainable Nuclear Industry Initiative working group on the development of new IV. reactor generation concepts.

In 2013 CV Rez became a member of the IGD-TP (Implementing Geological Disposal Technology Platform) for the research of radioactive waste disposal issues. A list of members from around the world can be found at: http://www.igdtp.eu/index.php/participants.

Regarding energy and renewable resources, CV Rez is a member of EERA (European Energy Research Alliance) – an energy research organization. EERA brings together 150 colleges.

CV Rez is also a member of ETSON (European Technical Safety Organization Network), which is a network of organizations to support the safety oversight of nuclear power plants. A list of its 13 members can be found at: http://www.etson.eu/About/Pages/Members.aspx. The UJV Rez a.s./CV Rez has an international/bilateral level  concluded framework agreements. These include a bilateral agreement with the CEA.CV Rez is also a member of Networks and Associations to support education in nuclear energy, namely the ENEN (European Nuclear Education Network) and fusion – FUSENET (the European Fusion Education Network). As far as the most important results are concerned, they can almost always be assigned to membership in one of the above-mentioned organizations because they create consortia for the EURATOM projects.

List of major significant international projects in the SUSEN themes in 2015 and 2016:

Horizon 2020 / EURATOM (EC) Framework Program for Research and Innovation – the most important projects:

– SESAME (thermal hydraulic simulations and experiments for the safety assessment of MEtal cooled reactors)

– EUROfusion (Development of DEMO fusion demonstrator technology)

7th Framework Program for Research and Technological Development (EC) – the most important projects:

– NUGENIA +: ASATAR, MICRIN (assessment of long-term reliability of corrosion cracking of materials, accelerated testing methodology)
