Utilization and outcomes of research infrastructure

RI SUSEN users will be participants in framework program projects, international organizations may include the French CEA (Commissariat and Energetics Atomique) and AREVA, the italian ENEA (Italian National Agency for New Technologies), Energy and Sustainable Economic Development, Canadian AECL (Atomic Energy of Canada Limited), the German KIT (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology) or the Chinese Shanghai University.

According to the technical annex of the SUSEN project is 10% of RI capacity offered under open access. This capacity has been offered since the beginning of 2016 for the part of RI, which was completed and put into operation in the first phase of the SUSEN project. The other parts of VI SUSEN were offered for open access during 2016 and 2017 as they were put into operation.

Number and type of expected results achieved by users RI SUSEN:

Certified methodologies – for example 6 in a total

– The methodology for measuring the main neutron quantities of salts and other materials used in the reactor core MSR and FHR certified by the State Office for Nuclear Safety (the input zone on which will be performed the measurements required for the development of the methodology and the fuel-cooling salt for the necessary experiments will be prepared with using RI SUSEN, the measurements are carried out on the reactor zone LR-0, which is part of the RI Reactors Rez).

– Methodology for determining the basic mechanical properties of a tensile test performed on a miniature test body (necessary experiments will be performed using RI SUSEN).

Verified technologies – for example 2 in a total

– Optimalizovaný režim termomechanického zušlechtění F/M chromové oceliX 11 CrNiMol2/T552 pro dosažení optimálních pevnostních a korozivzdorných vlastností v prostředí mokré páry nízkotlakých stupňů parních turbín (potřebné experimenty budou provedeny s využitím VI SUSEN).

– Optimized thermomechanical refinement mode of F/M chrome steel X 11 CrNiMol2/T552 for optimum strength and corrosion resistance in the wet steam environment of low pressure steam turbines (necessary experiments will be performed using RI SUSEN).

Functional samples – for example 3 in a total

– Extensometer for detecting deformation of test bodies in corrosion-mechanical tests in the HLM environment (necessary experiments will be performed using VI SUSEN).

Reviewed article – for example 10 in total

– A set of knowledge about the mechanisms of operational degradation of SUPER 304 H austenitic hot-rolled steel and homogeneous weld joints (necessary experiments will be performed using RI SUSEN).

Summary research reports – for example 10 in total

– Analysis of the reactions of molten corium with irradiated concrete (for the preparation of samples of irradiated concrete, RI Reactors will be used, the necessary experiments will be carried out using RI SUSEN and will probably be implemented as contract research with significant limitation of publication of results).

– Development, optimization and direct application of the optimal diagnostic method for determining the state of degradation of steam turbines (necessary experiments will be carried out using RI SUSEN, will be implemented as contract research with significant limitation of publication results).
